Der Unternehmensbereich Performance Materials der BASF stellt seinen strategischen Fahrplan zur Erreichung der Klimaneutralität bis 2050 vor und benennt wichtige Meilensteine auf dem Weg zu einer Kreislaufwirtschaft. Damit positioniert sich der Unternehmensbereich, der das gesamte Material-Know-how der BASF für innovative und maßgeschneiderte Kunststoffe bündelt, an der Spitze der dringend nötigen Nachhaltigkeitstransformation bei Kunststoffen.
 

Ludwigshafen, Germany – BASF gives a clear sign towards biotransformation of their (Meth)Acrylate portfolio and switches their production to bio-based Ethyl Acrylate (EA) starting Q4 2024. With a ¹⁴C-traceable bio content of 40% according to DIN EN 16640 and a low Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), bio-based EA from BASF helps customers worldwide to reach their sustainability goals. The product offers a PCF reduction of ~30% compared to fossil-based EA. Additionally to regular bio-based EA, BASF also offers bio-based Ethyl Acrylate BMB ISCC Plus. Here, the remaining carbon content originated from fossil based acrylic acid is ISCC PLUS certified, and by applying BASF’s biomass balance (BMB) approach, this variant offers a further reduced product carbon footprint.

BASF is presenting new concepts and recycling methods for polyurethanes at UTECH in Maastricht. The leading international trade fair and conference for the global polyurethane industry will take place from April 23-25 in Maastricht, NL. Circular economy is one of the major topics in all PU sectors. BASF offers new, sustainable material developments and recycling methods for various industries, which will be presented at the BASF stand, E20.

With its MDI production site in Geismar, Louisiana, USA, joining the ranks of ISCC PLUS and REDcert²-certified locations¹, BASF can now offer its customers regionally produced ISCC PLUS and/or REDcert² certified isocyanates and polyamides all over the world.
