BASF’s Performance and Formulation Additives announced the launch of Efka^® PX 4720, a new high‑performance dispersing agent designed for ultra‑matte, solvent‑free UV coating formulations, at the American Coatings Show 2026, held place from May 5 to 7.

Ludwigshafen, Germany, 17 June 2025. As the world’s leading trade fair for plastics and rubber returns to Düsseldorf this October 8^th to 15^th, BASF is again on board – just as it has been since the very first K-Fair in 1952.

Ludwigshafen, Germany – BASF, a global leader in the supply of additives to the coatings industry has completed the transition to bio-based Ethyl Acrylate (EA) for its Rheovis^® range manufactured at Ludwigshafen and Bradford sites. Now, the Rheovis^® range has a ¹⁴C-traceable biogenic content of up to 35% according to the ASTM D6866-18 analytical standard and a reduced Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of up to 30% compared to versions based on fossil feedstock. This development underlines BASF’s commitment to support customers in achieving their sustainability goals. The chemical composition and technical specifications of the new bio-based products remain unchanged.

BASF offers polyamide (PA) and polyphthalamide (PPA) blends with superior mechanical properties compared to PA66. Ultramid® T7000 excels in stiffness and strength, especially in humid conditions, making it ideal for moisture-exposed structural parts.

The globally recognized climate change organization and product carbon footprint (PCF) verifier “the Carbon Trust” has verified the BASF products 1,6-hexanediol (HDO), formic acid (FA), propionic acid (PA) and neopentyl glycol (NPG). The products have therefore achieved the Carbon Trust label and Lower than Market claim. This confirms that the products have a cradle-to-gate PCF that is demonstrably lower than the market average for fossil-based equivalent products. The verification is valid until May 2026. For PA and NPG, the verification only applies to the European production.
